About Appalachian Heritage Crafters

AHC was formed in early 2000, and incorporated as a North Carolina 501(c)3 nonprofitt corporationl. Our goals are to help educate our members and neighbors about arts and crafts, provide classes in various art forms for children and the elderly, and help provide an income for our members through selling our arts and crafts in our store and over the Internet.

We are Member Owned and Managed

As a non-profit corporation, we are owned by our members. We have a slate of officers and a group of committees that manage our day-to-day operations. All major decisions are made by our members. AHC has several categories of membership. If you're interested in becoming a member of AHC, please feel free to contact us for more information or click here for an application.

Being a nonprofit cooperative, we're striving to raise funds to insure our successful operation. We'll be introducing the criteria for Patron Members and Corporate Members in the near future. Individuals who would like to help us support arts and crafts in our Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee, and Northern Georgia region, are invited to become a Friend of Appalachian Heritage Crafters.

If you'd like any information about these programs, you can contact us through any of the channels on our Home page for more information.

We DO NOT Discriminate

We interpret "Appalachian Heritage" in its widest-possible meaning, and we welcome Native Americans and African Americans to join us. Most of the current residents of the area have a Scots-Irish background, but that is changing as more people move into our beautiful corner of the Earth. If you live in our region and you are an artist or crafter, we'd love to meet you and welcome you into our organization.

To Become A Member

AHC is a member-driven, non- profit co-operative. We, the members, run the AHC store and programs. We are unpaid volunteers, we all are part owners and we want and need every members help. Without it the store would close.
